Unimer super-fin (UFS) is a fin of silicone-treated polypropylene, welded to the base. The fin projects 0.8-1.0 mm above the brush and so takes up manufacturing and assembly tolerances.
The combination of fin and brush guarantees a very good seal, even against uneven surfaces. The sliding friction of the fin is exceptionally low. It also gives the brush seal very high sealing values for air and water penetration and gives improved sound insulation.
When the strip is fitted together at corners, the brush closes up and the fin provides a continuous seal when it is compressed.
The density for the 6.7 mm weather strip are three rows of bristles. Available with denser or sparser bristles.
Used, for instance, as a seal for aluminium systems, such as conservatories and glazed-in balconies.
